We all have those small moments in your lives when something good comes from your actions. Sometimes those moments require a small effort on our part like sharing a smile, saying an encouraging word, or giving service to a stranger. Sometimes those moments take time and sacrifice but regardless of the cost, to make someone else’s day brighter it is worth it. You never know the impact your actions may have on another person, so always try to make the small moments positive.

My Small Moment

I had the opportunity to play a very small part of a music video to bring awareness and healing regarding suicide recently. As I walked down the beach with a few hundred strangers, I could feel the strength that we had as a group united in our cause to show support and bring awareness to the issue of suicide. The crowd represented the fact that no one is alone and we all have people who love and support us. I truly felt like I was part of something amazing as I watched the video for the first time. I hope that this song brings some strength to those struggling with suicide and peace and comfort to those who have dealt with losing someone they love. I will never regret the time I took to be a small part of this message.

You can check out the video above, and we’ve included the lyrics below.

“My purpose for this video is to help save lives. Even if it can save just one, then we have done something great.” – Alex Boyé

Bend Not Break

Before you go can I ask you a question?
When’s the last time you thought life’s worth living?
You may think there’s only one way out
Can’t see beyond the way you feel right now.

But if you just bend
And not break
If you just bend
And not break oh
At least not today
Ohhh

Olele olele eyo
Olele olele

I know that this permanence is tempting
Cuz even on a good day, you feel empty
But Someone’s gonna miss you when you’re gone
There’s so much more to do if you hold on!

If you just bend
And not break
If you just bend
And not break
At least not today

Not today
Not today
Not today
At least not today
Not today
Not today
Not today
Hold on!

Cause you’ve got a mother
Got a sister
Got a brother
Got a father
Son and daughter in your life

If you just bend
And not break
If you just bend
And not break
At least not today

I can tell by the way you feel its hard to stay strong, in the midst of all this madness through the darkness please hold on yeah, won’t you please hold on? “Hold on!!!

Cause you’ve got a mother
Got a sister
Got a brother
Got a father
Son and daughter in your life.

They’re living for you!!

Cause you’ve got a mother
Got a sister
Got a brother
Got a father
Son and daughter in your life.
