Netflix has announced that they are currently developing a live-action adaptation of the beloved animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender.

For those of you unfamiliar with The Last Airbender, it’s one of the greatest animated television shows in the history of TV. The series aired on Nickelodeon from 2005 through 2008 where its complex story and diverse characters helped it develop a loyal fanbase. The series has continued to expand with various comics over the years.
This isn’t the first attempt at a live-action adaptation of the popular series. In 2010, M. Night Shyamalan brought his vision of The Last Airbender to the silver screen. It was horrible and only earned 6% on RottenTomatoes. Let us never speak of it again.
Though not much information is currently available, this is big news. What do you think? Will Netflix be able to do the series justice, or will it be another failed adaptation?
