The trailer for How To Train Your Dragon 3 released today and I need to say what we are all thinking: Toothless is the most relatable character in any animated series.
This trailer showed us a different side of Toothless. Yes, he’s nerdy, awkward, but now we have seen our reflections in how he tries and fails at flirting. Good luck bud. We’ve all been there.
Dreamworks knows how to tug at our heartstrings with a brief callback to the first moment’s Hiccup and Toothless met, however, who would have known that adding a revamped Ed Sheeran hit would create another dimension that had us feeling all the things before we have even seen the movie.
Now the trailer left us with some questions for sure. Where is Valka? Shouldn’t she be riding into the fire with all of these guys? Where did Hiccup get a new and improved dragon suit? Most importantly, Hiccup had a beard at the beginning of the trailer, where did that go for the other 2.5 minutes?
I’m not a huge animated sequel fan. Call me blasphemous but I think Shrek should have ended at the first one. Ice Age really should stop too. However, I have been so happy with the first two movies and am over the moon excited about this final chapter.
