Disney’s Jungle Cruise Gets Teased

Jungle CruiseWelcome to the adventure of a lifetime!

Disney has given us our first look at Jungle Cruise, their latest movie based on a Disneyland attraction. The video is short and sweet and features Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson, both in costume, sharing witty banter and having fun.

While Disney has struggled in the past with adapting their park attractions into feature films (Eddie Murphy’s Haunted Mansion anyone?) they have had some successes. One needs to look no further than the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise to see that people will actually go see ride-based films if it’s actually good. Of course, it could be argued that the sequels weren’t as good as the original; however, the original was good enough to spawn multiple sequels.

Jungle Cruise, which is currently in production, is being directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and stars Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Jesse Plemons, Paul Giamatti, Edgar Ramirez, and Jack Whitehall. It is currently scheduled to hit theaters October 2019.
