DC Announces Detective Comics #1000 Variants

Detective Comics will reach issue 1000 in March of next year, and to celebrate DC Comics has announced a number of variant covers, similar to what we saw with Action Comics #1000.

The milestone issue will debut a new Batman story arc while introducing a new version of the super-villain, Arkham Knight to DC’s comic book continuity. It also features additional original stories from an all-star collection of Bat-writers and artists including Neal Adams, Brian Michael Bendis, Greg Capullo, Becky Cloonan, Tony Daniel, Paul Dini, Warren Ellis, Geoff Johns, Kelley Jones, Joelle Jones, Tom King, Jim Lee, Kevin Smith, Scott Snyder, and more.

The variant covers will take us through time beginning with Steve Rude’s celebration of Batman in the 1930s. And like Action Comics #1000, other covers will take us through each of the following decades. Cover artists include Bruce Timm, Michael Cho, Jim Steranko, Bernie Wrightson, Frank Miller, Tim Sale, Jock, and Greg Capullo. Jim Lee provided the wraparound cover for the issue.

This 96-page oversize collector’s edition issue will be available at comics retailers and digitally on March 27, 2019, for $9.99. You can find out more here.
